Galerie Michael Schultz GmbH

Antiques & Art Galleries
Galerie Michael Schultz since its foundation in 1986 focusses on contemporary painting and sculpture.

During the early years, Georg Baselitz, Markus Lüpertz, and A.R. Penck were in the program, in addition came Anselm Kiefer, and Gerhard Richter as well as American positions such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Robert Rauschenberg and Andy Warhol.

An important accent of the gallery’s philosophy are discovery and development of emerging artists. Such were Cornelia Schleime, Helge Leiberg, Norbert Bisky and SEO. Currently among them are Rebecca Raue, Römer + Römer, Maik Wolf, Bernd Kirschner, Feng Lu, Sonja Alhäuser and Sabina Sakoh.

As a location for this purpose, schultz contemporary opened in 2005 right next door; exclusively dedicated to the presentation of young and unseen positions.

2006 Michael Schultz opened a branch in Seoul /Korea, followed in 2007 with a third one in Beijing / China, resulting in an expansion of the gallery program.

Currently, Korean artists Kim Yusob and Bong-Chae Son are represented, as well as Chinese artists Huang He, Ma Jun, Huang Min and Zou Cao.

With experience of over thirty years, Galerie Michael Schultz keenly faces future projects.
