MUCEM-Musée des civilisations de l'Europe et de la Méditerranée, inaugurated in 2013, is devoted to European and Mediterranean civilisations, with a particular focus on the contemporary aspects.
Its collections, comprising a total of a million works of art, documents and objects, are brought together with an interdisciplinary approach to society through the ages up to modern times.
The building was designed by the architect Rudy Riciotti, together with the architect Roland Carta.
