Museum De Lakenhal, located in the former guild hall for cloth merchants, is the city of Leiden's museum of history and fine art. The beautiful collection represents the rich cultural, intellectual, religious and economic history of Leiden
During the Golden Age, Leiden has been the birthplace of many painters, of which Rembrandt. The visitors can admire many works of them here, including two works of Rembrandt, 'A Pedlar Selling Spectacles' (Allegory of Sight), and a history piece with self-portrait.
