Museum Prinsenhof Delft, located in the former residence of William of Orange (1533 – 1584), is dedicated to the rich Dutch history, by placing the present Dutch nation in a comprehensible historic perspective.
William of Orange was murdered here, Delft is the city of Delftware, artists and scientists lived and worked here, such as the famous painter Vermeer and the Dutch businessman and scientist, Antonie van Leeuwenhoek (1632 – 1723).
The museum recently acquired a lost 17th century work of Jacob Delff II (1619 – 1661), titled 'Portrait of Willem Reyersz. de Langue and Daniël Fransz. van der Brugge'.
