Crafts & Restorations
The Royal Institute for Cultural Heritage (KIK-IRPA), established in 1948, is committed to the inventory, the scientific study, the conservation, restoration and the promotion of the country's artistic and cultural property.

Any restoration will be based on this detailed pre-study by the in-house art historians, photographers, chemists, physicists and conservator-restorers.

The institute's information centre, including its photo library and library are open to the public.

Furthermore, the KIK-IRPA organises courses, conferences and seminars.

If you are a curator of a public collection, a private collector or a researcher and you have a piece with great heritage interest, you can ask our for advice, a photo, the study of such piece or even a conservation and/or restoration treatment.
