The House contains an extensive art collection, with period furniture, paintings, silver, porcelain and other objets d'art. Diana, Princess of Wales was interred on a small island in the middle of the ornamental Round Oval Lake.

The groungs include a serpentine park (c1786 by Brown and Henry Holland) and a Victorian garden.

The House and grounds are open in July and August. Althorp is also well known for its yearly Literary Festival and Food & Drink Festival. 

Althorp is also a venue for film & photo shooting, field sports, cultural, corporate and private events, such as concerts, receptions, weddings...
