Antiquités Valérie Levesque

Antiques & Art Galleries
Established at 3, rue des Saints-Pères for many years, Valérie Levesque presents objects of Chinese art from the Ming and Qing dynasties and pieces of the East India Company.

In addition it has a collection of Japanese art from the Momoyama, Edo and Meiji periods.

The various ways of Buddhism or Taoism are expressed through the Kakemono, the Tanghka and sculpture. The scholar's objects or more generally the objects from the imperial court of China or Japanese Shoguns daimyos are also presented at the gallery. All the objects are sold with a certificate of authenticity.
A graduate of the Ecole du Louvre in Paris, Valérie Levesque took an early interest in Asian art. She explains in The Art Newspaper (n° 108, Nov.2002) that her grandmother’s Asian art collection had influenced her in her choice to specialise in Chinese and Japanese art.
While still a student, a visit to the Guimet Museum was a revelation and was the starting point of her passion. She first specialised in Chinese and Japanese porcelain then extended her acquisitions to paintings, lacquers, cloisonné, jade objects, ivories, etc..

Valérie Levesque works with Asia’s art museums, foundations, private collectors, antique dealers and international decorators, always focusing on the condition, the beauty and the antiquity of the pieces presented.
