Aulteribe Castle

Château d'Aulteribe, with its rich collection of furniture, paintings and objets d'art, was bequeathed to the state in 1954 by its last private owner the Marquis Henri de Pierre. The House and park are open to the public.
According to the last will of the Marquis de Pierre, the castle has become also a training centre of fine cabinetmaking. As part of a French Higher Technical Diploma in Craftsmanship the castle is hosting trainees in cabinetmaking and its furnishings are used as examples to illustrate lessons in fine arts and techniques.
