The Beethoven Museum, part of the Wien Museum, is dedicated to the life and work of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770 – 1827), who lived from 1787 on permanently in Vienna. In this house he worked on some of his most important works, such as the Piano Sonata Op. 31, No.2 ("The Tempest"), the "Prometheus"-Variations, Op. 35, and first sketches for the Third Symphony (“Eroica”).
