Braemar Castle was built in 1628 for the Earls of Mar, but it was purchased in 1732 by John Farquharson, 9th Laird of Invercauld. Today, leased to the local community, it is open to the public.
The castle is associated with many ghost stories.
Braemar Castle is also a venue for film & photo shooting, cultural, corporate and private events, such as concerts, receptions, weddings...
