It is an international youth music event for young classical musicians aged 25 and under.

The Festival is held in Brisbane, Australia and provides gifted young musicians with the opportunity to develop and showcase their abilities through competition, education, and mentorship.

During the BIYMF, musicians will be mentored in master classes in conducting, piano, voice, violin, brass and woodwind instruments.
