The wonderful art collection contains Italian Old Master paintings, Oriental and European ceramics, fine English and Continental furniture, 17th century Objects of Vertu, English portrait miniatures, European Works of Art and Chinese Snuff Bottles.

The park was designed by Lancelot Brown (after 1754).

Burghley is a venue for corporate, private, cultural and large-scale events such as classical concerts.

The House and 5.263 ha (13.000 acres) estate are run by the Burghley House Preservation Trust, established in 1969 by the Sixth Marquess of Exeter, and controlled by the Cecil family.
