The Burgomaster Jonas Šliūpas Museum, a branch of the National Museum of Lithuania, is a house-museum, where Jonas Šliūpas (1861 – 1944) lived. He was a doctor and a prominent Lithuanian activist during the Lithuanian National Revival. He lived also in the US for 35 year, where he promoted his ideas.
He wrote around 70 books and edited many periodicals, whereas he sharply criticised the Roman Catholic Church.
