Castle Ebenfurth was first mentioned in 1160 and had, until 1747, been owned by several different families, such as the von Pottendorf and von Unversagt families. In 1747 the castle came into the hands of the Barons von Sutter von Gundackar, and remained in their possession until 1965. After two other different owners, the property was acquired in 2010 by the Serbian folk-singer Dragana Mirkovic Bijelic and her husband Anton Bijelic, who started a complete renovation.
