Castle Gnandstein dates back to the 13th century and is closely to the Counts von Einsiedel until confiscation in 1945 by the communists. The last owners of the v. Einsiedel family founded already the museum which is still in place and was increased by the Gross collection in 2004, with Meissen porcelain, sculptures and paintings.
The castle has been restored during the second half of the 20th century.
Gnandstein is also a venue for corporate and private events, such as receptions, weddings...
