Castle Kynžvart (Schloss Königswart) has been summer residence of Chancellor Metternich. Today it is a museum displaying the many Metternich collections. The castle is surrounded by a landscape park of 300 ha.
The castle has been in the in the Metternich family since around 1630 until 1945. Now completely restored, it is a pleasure for the eye with its wonderful art, coins, weapons, priceless books and earliest prints, many curiosities including personal things of famous historical VIPs.
