Castle Köthen was the Residence of the Princes and Dukes of Anhalt from 1244 until 1847. It is here that Johann Sebastian Bach worked from 1717 until 1723 as Hofkapelmeister for Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Köthen. Today it houses several museums and is used for cultural events such as concerts.
These different museum activities are: The Historical Museum and Bach Memorabilia, the Naumann Museum (Ornithology), the Prehistoric Collection and Museum Education.
Köthen is aslo a venue for corporate and private events, such as meetings, receptions...
