Castle Ward

Castles & Country Houses, Event, Film & Wedding Hire, Gardens & Parks
Castle Ward has been the residence of the Ward family since ca. 1570, but was presented to the state, due to death duties, in 1950 by the 6th Viscount Bangor. Today it is owned by the National Trust and open to the public.

The castle is surrounded by a 345 ha (852 acres) walled demesne. The different styles at the front and the back side of the house reflect the different tastes of the builder, Lord Bangor and his wife, Lady Ann Bligh.

Noteworthy: Watch our resident crafters create hand-made pottery and jewellery before your eyes, while children draw and drive toy tractors in the barn.

Castle Ward is also a venue for weddings.
