Centraal Museum

Monuments & Sites, Museums & Art Centres
Centraal Museum, founded in 1838 and located in the former medieval monastery at the Nicolaaskerkhof, features a wide-ranging collection of art works by, for a substantial part, locally born artists (but often internationally renowned), such as the Utrecht Caravaggisti. The collection contains pre-1850 art, modern art, applied art, fashion and the history of the town.

Since 2006, the museum also runs the Mifty Museum, dedicated to the rabbit character 'Miffy', created by Dick Bruna (1927 – 2017) , as well as the Rietveld-Schroöder House, built by the Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld (1888 – 1964).
