Museums & Art Centres, Music
The Centre Pompidou, is a world famous cultural centre housing the Musée National d'Art Moderne, the Bibliothèque publique d'information (Public Information Library), and the IRCAM, an institute for science about music, sound and avant garde electro-acoustical art music.

The Centre is named after the art-loving former French president Georges Pompidou, and was inaugurated in 1977 only after his death (1974), whereas the architectural team was composed of Richard Rogers, Su Rogers, Renzo Piano and Gianfranco Franchini.
