Château Clos Lucé

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
Château Clos Lucé is famous for having served as residence for Leonardo da Vinci from 1516 up to his death in 1519. Today it is a Leonardo da Vinci museum.

It displays for example forty models of the various machines designed by Leonardo and includes a copy of the Mona Lisa, painted in 1654 by Amboise Dubois.

Jardin de Léonard opened in 2008 with the aim of breathing life into Leonardo's landscapes and botanical studies. One feature is a double-deck bridge, invented by Leonardo.
