Château de Chastellux
Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks, Private Collections
Château de Chastellux's oldest part was built around 1080. The castle is still inhabited by the family who built it, the de Chastellux family, which is a rarity. The castle and gardens are open to the public since 2008.
During the last 1000 years many generations of the family enlarged, embellished and restored the castle. Many members of the family made history of their own.
Several films have been shot at the Château de Chastellux during the 20th century such as "Mon oncle Benjamin" (1969), "L'épingle noire" (1969) and "Le fantôme du lac" (2004).
