Château de Valmer
Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Château de Valmer, dating back to the 16th century, is a happy combination of Italian Renaissance with a beautiful park, gardens and winery.
It is home to the Count and the Countess of Saint Venant, who's son Jean is managing the estate.
The 60-hectare park and garhdens, with balustrades, statues, columns, stairs and fountains, include a rare troglodytic chapel dating from 1524.
The vineyards (32 ha) produce sparkling, dry, semi-dry and sweet white wines. They surround like a horseshoe the terraced gardens in a preserved ecosystem of forests and pastures.
