Château Val Joanis is a privately owned by the Chancel family, and dates back to Roman times. Apart from the vineyards, the château is surrounded by beautiful gardens, including a garden in the style of a 17th-century kitchen garden.
The property has an ancient history and is built on the site of an ancient Roman villa. Its name derives from one its owners, Jean de Joanis, the secretary of the King Louis III of Naples.
It was purchased in 1977 by Jean-Louis Chancel and his wife, who started a full restoration.
Val Joanis is also a venue for weddings, receptions, meetings....
