Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Charlecote Park has been the home of the Lucy family for 900 years, up to the present day. Today it is managed by the National Trust. The house was built in 1558 by Sir Thomas Lucy and greatly recreated in the 19th century.
The park, including also a deer park, was designed by Lancelot Brown in 1756. The terraced garden was added in the 19th century, and much loved by Lady Mary Elizabeth, wife of Sir George Hammond Lucy.
The house contains the family collection, brought together by the many generations of the same family who lived here.
