Château de La Rochefoucauld

Castles & Country Houses, Event, Film & Wedding Hire, Private Collections
Château de La Rochefoucauld is closely linked to the de La Rochefoucauld family, which can be traced back to 1019 and probably even further. It is still inhabited by the actual generation, François 15e Duke de La Rochefoucauld and his family, who inherited it in 1972 from his grandfather.

The La Rochefoucauld family is with four other families in France, of which the Capetians, who can claim their linage back to the circle around Charlemagne.

The history of the castle begins around 980, when Fucaldus built the first fortification. An important moment was when King François I changed the barony into a County. It was at that period that the Renaissance south wing and the towers were added. The western wing was added around the 18th century. All together the castle is by its elegance, architecture, art collection, libraries, maps and archives one of the most beautiful castles in France.

Château de La Rochefoucauld is available for corporate and private events, such as meetings, weddings...
