Culzean Castle

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Culzean Castle, dating from the late 18th century, was built by Robert Adam for David Kennedy, 10th Earl of Cassillis. The castle and park, 260 ha (650 acres), now in the hands of the National Trust for Scotland, are open to the public.

The castle is filled with treasures from the people who lived here, including a permanent exposition on President and General, Dwight D. Eisenhower, who had an apartment here during his life.

It has a nineteenth century terraced garden with borders and a lily pond and extensive woodlands and coastal walks.
