Deutschlandsberg Castle- Bergmuseum Archeo Norico

Castles & Country Houses, Museums & Art Centres
The Burg Deutschlandsberg is built on a Neolithic site and goes back to the Middle Ages. Today, owned by the municipality of Deutschlandsberg, the renovated castle serves as a history museum with eight permanent exhibitions including 5000 objects, and as a Castle Hotel with 21 rooms with period furniture and  antiques.

The castle and its surrounding dominion was owned by the Archdiocese of Salzburg from 970 until far into the 19th century. The first mentioned administrator was Count Lonsperg, mentioned in 1153. After 1850 it fell into decay, but since 1932, the municipality of Deutschlandsberg, as owner has made it as we can experience today.
