Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
Down House was home of the world-renowned scientist Charles Darwin where he lived with his family from 1842 until his death in 1882. He and his wife Emma had remodelled the house and gardens as we see it today.

It was here that he wrote his groundbreaking work' On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection' (1859).

Let Sir David Attenborough take you on an interactive multimedia tour around the house.
