Drummond Castle Gardens

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Drummond Castle Gardens, dating back to the 17th Century, is one of Scotland’s most important and impressive formal gardens. In the 19th Century they were redesigned and terraced.

The formal gardens that you see today were replanted in the 1950s but preserve many of the original features, the ancient yew hedges and the remaining beech tree planted by Queen Victoria, commemorating her visit in 1842

The Castle is in the hands of the Willoughby de Eresby family since the 18th Century, and presently inhabited by Nancy Jane Marie Heathcote-Drummond-Willoughby, 28th Baroness Willoughby de Eresby.

Visitors are most welcome to visit the gardens, although the castle remains closed to the public.

Together with the other family seat in England, Grimsthorpe Castle, Drummond is owned and managed by the The Grimsthorpe & Drummond Castle Trust.
