The Dutch Cheese Museum, founded in 1983 and located in the historic 'Waag', is dedicated to Dutch cheese: its history, production methods and the cheese trade.

The historic building of the Waag, a 14th century chapel, which converted the weighing house in 1583. It is located on the square 'Waagplein' where every Friday from April till the second week of September, the famous cheese market takes place.
