The Folklore Museum - Volkskunde Museum, part of the Salzburg Museum and housed in a charming 17th century hunting lodge, displays abundant folklore holdings, with a special focus on cribs and religious craftwork, glass painting, furniture, ceramics, traditional garments as well as folk music and customs.
The hunting lodge, the Monatsschlössl, was allegedly built within only one month in 1615, commissioned by Archbishop Mark Sittich (1612–1619).
