François Léage opens his first gallery in 1971, located rue Lamennais in the right bank 8th arrondissement in Paris. Some 20 years later, he moves to prestigious Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the current location of the Gallery, at nr. 178, at the corner with rue de Berri. The ground floor continues with a suite of twelve upstairs rooms.

Today, his son Guillaume Léage carries on the family tradition in the fifth generation of Antiques Dealers.

Galerie François Léage has built its reputation with the exceptional 17th and 18th century decorative works of art which it displays in its showrooms. Each piece is chosen with taste and rigour, integrity and authenticity being the key criteria.

Its reputation also rests on the relationship of trust and discretion built with its clients worldwide– Collectors, Interior Decorators and Museum Curators.

Continuing the family's tradition, Galerie François Léage has donated to various public collections. Works of art originating from its Gallery can be found, amongst others, at the Châteaux of Versailles and Compiègne, the JP Getty Museum, Los Angeles, and the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The Gallery has participated in the Biennale des Antiquaires at the Paris Grand Palais since 1978, and is renowned for its spectacular booths on a backdrop of exceptional 18th century wood paneling.

The most recent editions were marked by the introduction of contemporary elements, such as metal panels and coloured floorboards updating the 18th century to the 21st century lifestyle.

She has participated since 2015 BRAFA, in Brussels, where furniture and art objects are presented in a unique scenography: uncluttered atmosphere, featuring a graphical games simple contemporary style.
