Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
Frederiksborg Palace was built in the Dutch Renaissance style at the beginning of the 1600s by King Christian IV. Fully restored by 1882 after a fire, it was reopened to the public as the Danish Museum of National History.

The restoration was possible thanks to the owner of Carlsberg, Brewer J.C. Jacobsen. He founded also The Museum of National History, reflecting 500 years of Danish history and which is today still run as a branch of the Carlsberg Foundation.

Also the Baroque gardens have been restored according to the original plans of J.C. Krieger in the 1990s. However there is also an English style garden, including a Bath House.
