Galleria Spada

Castles & Country Houses, Museums & Art Centres
The Galleria Spada, displays a small collection of art from the 16th and 17th centuries. The beautiful palazzo was built in the mid-17th century by the Italian artist Francesco Borromini, who created a forced perspective gallery.

The gallery, measuring 9 metres long, creates a visual optical illusion of a 40 metre gallery, thanks to an architectural trick.
