Gatton Park is the core 105 ha (260 acres) of the Gatton estate, including an important number gardens, vistas, lakes and walks. It was created between 1762-8 by the historic landscape designer Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown.
The gardens contain many features such as a Japanese Garden, Rock and Water Garden, Walled Garden and Old World Garden.
Part of the Gatton Park estate is owned by the National Trust, whereas the house is since 1948 a school. The last private owner was Sir Jeremiah Colman.
Gatton Park is also a venue for children birthday parties.
