Gottorf Castle, former residence of the Danish kings and the Dukes of Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp, locates now two museums, the State Art and Cultural History Museum and the State Archeological Museum.
The castle hosts many cultural events such as temporary exhibitions, concerts, theatre, lectures... It is surrounded by a recent reconstructed Baroque garden.
Gottorf is also a venue for corporate and private events, such as receptions, weddings...
