Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks, Private Collections
Grimsthorpe Castle has been in the hands same family for over 500 years, including its present inhabitant, Nancy Jane Marie Heathcote-Drummond-Willoughby, 28th Baroness Willoughby de Eresby.

Surrounded by around the 750 ha (3,000acres) park, shaped by Capability Brown, the Castle contains a beautiful collection of tapestries, furniture, ceramics and paintings.

The garden include a knot garden, hedged rose gardens, a terrace with herbaceous, shrub borders and a summerhouse designed by Vanbrugh.

The oldest part of the castle, the King's Tower, dates from the 13th century.

Together with the other family seat in Scotland, Drummond Castle, Grimsthorpe is owned and managed by the The Grimsthorpe & Drummond Castle Trust.
