Hanbury Hall, a stately home in 'Dutch-style', had been in the hands of the Vernon family since 1630. However, after the death of the last member of the family, Sir George Vernon and his estranged wife, the Hall became property of the National Trust in 1960.

Inside, the Hall is beautifully decorated with original wall-paintings by Sir James Thornhill.

The 18th century formal Great Garden, created by Georges London, the Royal Gardener of Queen Anne, has been carefully and accurately been restored. It contains a Parterre, and Formal Fruit and Vegetable Gardens.

The 0.6 ha (1.5 acres) Walled Garden, is producing flowers, fruits and vegetables. The fruits and vegetables in the tearooms
