Hovingham Hall

Castles & Country Houses, Event, Film & Wedding Hire, Gardens & Parks, Music, Private Collections
Hovingham Hall is a Palladian house, built for Thomas Worsley from 1750 to 1770. It is the seat of the Worsley family and is the childhood home of the Duchess of Kent.

In front of the house is a cricket pitch, possibly the oldest one in England. Another unique feature is that it is the only house in the world where the front door is approached through a large covered riding school.

The house and gardens are open to the public for a limited time each year but both are closed on Sundays.

Hovingham Hall is available for corporate and private events. Whilst we are not a wedding venue, we can cater for everything from an intimate dinner for 14 to a banquet for 220 people. Concerts are a regular feature and music is a tradition in the house.

The house with its vaulted halls and Palladian architecture provides an original setting for filming and photographic shoots.
