Iford Manor, the Peto Garden
Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks, Music
Iford Manor, dating from the Middle-Ages, the classical facade being added in the 18th century, has been the house of Harold Ainsworth Peto from 1899 to 1933. He was an architect and landscape gardener.
He designed these beautiful gardens.
In summer, the gardens and cloister play host to a series of Opera performances and jazz concerts, as well as a series of free "3-to-tea" concerts on Sunday afternoons by amateur and not-so-amateur artists.
