Ightham Mote was built around 700 years ago, and is a Medieval-Tudor moated manor house. The house is surrounded by peaceful grounds: an Enclosed Garden, Stable Courtyard, Formal Garden, Cutting Garden, an orchard, long herbaceous border, Pleasure Grounds, Eastern Terrace, and a wild Lost Garden, water features, lakes and woodland walks.
Ightham Mote has had many owners, of which the last one, Charles Henry Robinson, gave it to the National Trust in 1985
