International Fritz Kreisler Violin Competition in Vienna, was established in 1979 and named after the violinist Fritz Kreisler. It is hold every four years and is one of the largest competitions of its kind.

To present a rich competition programme of the most beautiful violin music from the baroque period until today, that in four rounds (violin solo, violin and piano twice, violin and orchestra) enables the competition participants to express the full range of their artistic personalities.

To organize a unique violin festival, with an exciting series of 20 concerts that move from strength to strength until the highlight of the event, the gala-final with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra in the Great Hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus.
