The Kaunas City Museum tells the history of Kaunas, including its political and cultural life, legendary residents, as well as other important and interesting facts about the city. The museum has five departments: Kaunas Castle, M. and K. Petrauskai Lithuanian Music History Museum, Juozas Gruodis Memorial Museum, and the Lithuanian Folk Music History Museum.
