Monuments & Sites, Museums & Art Centres
The Kiek in de Kök Museum, part of the City museum, is a museum in a medieval fortification complex including four towers: Kiek in de Kök, Maiden's Tower, Tallitorn Tower, and the Gate Tower of the Short Leg. The fortification complex also includes mysterious underground bastion passages, built in the 17th–18th centuries, which house the Carved Stone Museum.
The permanent exhibition gives an overview about the birth of the town, the history of its fortifications and main military campaigns and sieges from the 13th century to the 18th century.
