La Chapelle Foujita, constructed in 1965-1966, is the creation of the Japanese artist Tsuguharu Foujita (1886-1968). The chapel is in particular renowned for the artist's frescoes.
Tsuguharu Foujita, who converted to Roman Catholicism in 1959, wanted to build a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary. He realized his project with the support of his godfather, René Lalou, who was at the time chairman of the Mumm champagne.
The artist and his last wife are both buried in the chapel.
