Lydney Park Estate
Castles & Country Houses, Event, Film & Wedding Hire, Gardens & Parks
Lydney Park is the home of the descendants of Benjamin Bathurst, who acquired the estate in 1719. The present owner is Rupert Bathurst, 4th Viscount Bledisloe.
Although the house dates back to the 17th century, the present house was built in 1876. The gardens have naturally evolved over time and with the successive generations, into what the visitor can see today. In the 1950s, a paved terrace, two fountain pools, hedges and lawns were made together with a major replanting programme
The park contains Roman Ruins and evidence of a Norman castle.
Lydney Park Estate is open to the public in the Spring and is also open on selected days as part of the National Garden Scheme.
Lydney Park is an ideal setting for weddings between April and September.
