The Monastery of San Jerónimo de Yuste is a Hieronymite monastery founded in 1408-1414. It has become famous as the retreat of Emperor Charles V in 1556, and where he died in 1558.
It includes one gothic, one renaissance cloister, whereas the church was built in 1508-1525.
The "Royal Chamber" was created by Gaspar de Vega in 1554-1555, on the basis of clear instructions from Charles V, and looks over the vegetable garden and a pond.
