The Musée de Cluny- Musée national du Moyen Âge, located in the the Hôtel de Cluny and the vestiges of the Thermes de Cluny, features a vast collection from antiquity to the Renaissance. The collections include some veritable masterpieces, such as the Pilier des Nautes from the 1st century, and the six tapestries that make up La Dame à la Licorne (The Lady with the Unicorn), dating from the 15th century.

The Hotel de Cluny was an abbey belonging to the Monks of Cluny and dates back to the late 13th century, whereas it was rebuilt and turned into a mansion house by Jacques d’Amboise, the abbot of Cluny, at the end of the 15th century,
