Monuments & Sites, Museums & Art Centres
The Museum Of Scottish Lighthouses, located in the 16th Century castle Mainland, was Scotland's first lighthouse (1787) which has been converted into a museum of maritime history. The museum tells the great story of the Northern Lighthouse Board, the engineers who built the lights and the keepers who tended them.
It is a story of skill, courage, technical genius and brilliant organisation.
